Biography
David is a Managing Partner of BTG’s Advisory division, based in the London office. He leads BTG’s Advisory service line and established a specialist team focusing on creditor and debtor side assignments in the guise of Independent Business Reviews (IBRs), Independent Solvency Reviews (ISRs) and debt advisory. His sector experience spans construction, healthcare, leisure and print.
He is often engaged in turnaround assignments and works alongside high street clearing banks on the stabilisation of cash and creditor positions, profit improvement, cash generation, accelerated mergers and acquisitions (AMAs), refinancing, and the consideration of appropriate restructuring mechanisms, and the implementation of new systems.
His recent cases include a review of a London Stock Exchange, UK-listed and multi-EU location pharmaceutical company, and the review, valuation and sale negotiation of a telecoms group, resulting in the bank issuing an impairment reversal.
He conducted the cash stabilisation and successful business sale of a major UK tour operator with a turnover in excess of £100 million. He handled numerous assignments within the private education arena, including an orderly shutdown, the merger of two underperforming schools and issuing new money requests to banks in support of turnaround strategies.
He worked on a multi-phase assignment for a well-publicised leisure group, and other assignments involving supporting bars, public houses, hotels, restaurants, and sporting clubs, primarily in golf and rugby. He continues to work with all stakeholders within the care and health sector, providing IBRs, ISRs, strategic advice, contingency planning and negotiating creditor repayment plans.
Prior to joining BTG, he worked in Top 50 London-based partnerships.
