BTG Global Advisory (BTG GA) has further strengthened its geographical footprint and network as new member firm Kallias and Associates joins the group.

Kallias and Associates is a Cyprus-based independent firm offering insolvency and restructuring services alongside financial consultancy, accounting, audit and tax services. The new member will be offering services to clients and members of the group in business recovery, turnaround management, liquidations, personal insolvency, receivership, examinership and schemes of arrangement.

Regularly appointed by secured creditors, in particular, banks and credit acquiring companies as receivers and managers of debtor companies, Kallias and Associates’ experienced insolvency practitioners have taken appointments in debtor companies with debts of between €1m and €120m.

The firm works extensively both trading and selling businesses as going concerns to conserve business goodwill, value for creditors and other stakeholders and winding up international business companies and structures, including holding and finance company structures.

It also works managing real estate assets, including coordinating procedures for the issuing of separate title deeds in development projects and handling conflicting claims on assets, such as claims from buyers of units which remain mortgaged.

For complex cases that require local knowledge of tax procedures and laws, the firm also regularly negotiates and agrees repayment plans with the tax department, so that realisation of assets is beneficial to secured creditors.

Led by Managing Director and founder Marios Kallias, the 12-strong team of chartered accountants, insolvency practitioners, lawyers and support staff have extensive experience managing appointments across sectors including real estate, hospitality and tourism, manufacturing, agriculture and transport. The firm also has strong international and local relationships with a number of accounting firms, legal firms and banking institutions from their liquidation and receivership work.

The firm joins BTG GA’s ten strong network of member firms working across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia.

The move further strengthens the international presence of founding member and financial and real estate advisory group BTG in the UK, with which Kallias and Associates has an existing relationship through London partner Andrew Andronikou. The two member firms are set to work closely on cross-border appointments, including special administrations and work involving sanctions.

Adrian Hyde, Chair of BTG Global Advisory, said:

“Welcoming a new member into our global network is another great milestone in our expansion and evolution as a group. Kallias and Associates bring invaluable experience, local knowledge and cross-sector and border expertise to strengthen the collective offering for clients across the world. The firm are aligned with the same vision and values that gives our group its strength and I am sure they will quickly be an invaluable part of our growing network. Beyond this latest onboarding, I look forward to continuing our work to bring together capable, trusted firms and their talented teams to work together effectively and deliver the best outcomes to any client in any corner of the globe.”

It is clear we are aligned in our values, priorities and way of conducting work, and as appointments require more and more cross-territory collaboration, having an established connection with international firms aligned in these ways stands us all in the best position to deliver exceptional work. We look forward to working closely with BTG in the UK and establishing strong working relationships with the other member firms in the coming weeks.”
